New York, New York! Part 2 – Most popular Attractions

Hey ihr Lieben,

heute möchte ich euch meine Highlights der Sehenswürdigkeiten in New York City zeigen.

1. Central Park

(Achtung sehr teuer!)

3. MoMA – Museum of Modern Art

4. Rockefeller Center

Hey Beauties,

this blog entry is about my Top 5 sights in New York City.

1. Central Park

The Central Park is also called the green lung of New York City. The park is located in the heart of the city from 59th till 110th Street between 5th and 8th Avenue. It's perfect to do sport, for dates or just to find rest in this loud world. During the winter months is an ice rink open for you. There are also a lot of ponds and much known spots which you know from series like Sex and the City. (You can also find Sex and the City-Tours in New York City, a must-see for every true fan!)

2. Times Square

Every New York visitor will visit Times Square at least once. There are lights and people everywhere and famous attractions like the Naked Cowboy. Most of you may know this sight for the balldrop on New Years Eve. I joined this event last year and I have to say the feeling to be there was amazing. But honestly I have to say it wasn't so spectacular like I thought it would be. It was very crowded, freezing cold and you didnt't see much of the balldrop and there was no firework. So if you wanna celebrate New Years Eve in New York, get yourself ticket for an event or go to a special bar/restaurant. (Please consider, that the everything on this day is very expensive.)

3. MoMA – Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern Art has an arresting art collection of Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Gustav Klimt over Jackson Pollock up to Henri Matisse. Even people who aren't interested to art will be thrilled. The entry to the admission is free for all visitors during UNIQLO Free Friday Nights, held every Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. It's also allowed to take pictures, but just without flash.

4. Rockefeller Center

The Rockefeller Center is near to MoMa, between Fifth Avenue und Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue), West 47th Street und West 52nd Street. This building is 259 meters high and offers beside numerous shopping possibilities also a stunning observation deck with a view onto the Empire State Building. During Christmas time, you will find a huge Christmas tree with thousands colorful lights and an ice rink in front of Rockefeller Center.

5. Ground Zero

When you visit Ground Zero you will notice a special radiation which surrounds this place. For me it nearly felt unreal, very futuristic and calm. The core of this area are the two fountains with the engraved names of the victims from 9/11. Next to the fountains you can find 1 WTC. It's 541 meters high and the fourth highest building on earth. It also has an observation deck, for which you should buy your tickets at home(!) before your trip.

These are just five of hundreds of beautiful places in New York. If you need ideas here are some other great suggestions what you shouldn't miss: the Brooklyn Bridge (most beautiful to cross by foot from Brooklyn to Manhattan), the Washington Square Park, the Flatiron Building, the Empire State Building, China Town, Greenwich Village, the Guggenheim Museum…

Don't be shy to ask me any questions about New York and my journey. I hope this little introductions will help you for your holiday.

Love, S.
